Programs
Harlem Pride provides programming to help support the needs of the community and celebrate its accomplishments.
Community Building & Engagement
Community building and engagement provides opportunities and spaces for Harlem’s SGL/LGBT community to connect and network with each other.
Community Forums
Established in the Fall of 2011, Harlem Pride Community Forums are a place for us to address concerns that affect our community. It allows us to come together to discuss, plan and implement solutions to the many issues we face, as well as inform and educate ourselves. These are also opportunities for specific segments of our community (i.e. trans*, youth, etc.) to meet, communicate, and plan activities that directly address their specific needs. Topics are chosen based upon the needs and requests of our community. Check the events calendar for upcoming Community Forums.
The Harlem Pride Youth Community Advisory Board
The Harlem Pride Youth Advisory Board consists of youth, 16 – 30 years of age, who work together to create and manage programming specific to the issues and needs of the youth in our community. Their main focus areas mirror that of the board of directors. They work within a budget and design their own activities under these focus areas, which include planning activities for the Celebration Month, Film & Culture Fest, Empowerment Summit, and Holiday Party. The Harlem Pride Board of Directors provides guidance and assistance. One of the benefits the Youth Community Advisory Board receives is being sponsored to attend events like the National LGBT Task Force’s annual Creating Change Conference.
